Privacy Policy
Last updated July 9, 2026. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Account details (phone number, name, birthday, gender), profile content (photo, bio, interests), your approximate and precise location (only with your permission), the plans you post and respond to, messages you send, device push tokens (if you enable notifications), and basic usage data such as when you last opened the app.
How we use it
To run Thumbs: showing your plans to nearby people, computing distances, delivering chats and notifications, enforcing our rules (including handling reports), and understanding aggregate usage so we can improve the app. We don't sell your personal data.
What others see
Other users see your first name, age, photos, your "why", work, school, hometown, city, and your live date. Your phone number and exact coordinates are never shown to other users — distances are displayed instead.
Where it lives
Your data is stored with our infrastructure provider (Supabase) and protected with row-level security. Photos you upload are stored in a content bucket referenced by your profile and dates.
Retention & deletion
Data is kept while your account is active. Deleting your account from Settings permanently removes your profile, your live date, thumbs you sent and received, chats, and notifications.
Your choices
You control location permission, notification permission, contact hiding, and what you put on your profile. You can report content, pass on dates, and delete your account entirely at any time.
